Welcome Mike Lepre! Our new Technical Associate

We are thrilled to announcement that Mike Lepre has joined the BMW Group + QUT Design Academy as Technical Associate. Mike will be leading technical administration duties for the Academy as we grows in scope, size and capabilities in the coming months. He will manage the design and research spaces as well as key assets and resources. He will also be in charge of implementing workplace health and safety processes for workshops and special events.

For the last 9 years Mike has worked as a technician in the QUT J Block Fabrication Workshop, providing technical and design advice and working with design students and staff in development and prototyping of projects, especially in the area of digital fabrication. His current design passion lies in the world of ceramics. From designing and making porcelain vases, he utilises his knowledge and experience to develop and manufacture bespoke architectural surfaces for the wayfinding design and architecture industry.

We are excited to have Mike join the team and we look forward to working with him as our footprint and impact expands!
