2021: Looking ahead…
As we turn the page to 2021, we are really excited about the projects and initiatives we have launching this year especially across Research and Special Projects Programs. So for the start of 2021, I wanted to share with you our four key initiatives for the coming year.

Blender (no, not the one in your kitchen)
I want to give you an overview of Blender, the open source 3D modelling program that is rapidly gaining in popularity. It is so popular that blender.org estimated that there were up to 3 million users in 2019. Aside from being a 3D modelling program, Blender can be used to create realistic renderings, textures, rigging and animations, sculpting, video editing and compositing, simulation (e.g. fluid, smoke, cloth), and as of the latest release, it also supports VR.

Flying over to Munich was an exhilarating experience. Bound by the notion of interning at a Bavarian company, more so, BMW; was an opportunity I found myself struggling to comprehend. My mind was filled with questions concerning software proficiencies, first impressions and how the skills I fostered in University would transfer into a fast-paced work environment.
Learning and growing while interning at BMW Group
Working at BMW in Munich alongside industry professionals has been a really special opportunity for me. The experience over the last 6 months has allowed me to grow as an individual and as a new industry professional. I am challenged and encouraged everyday to push my skills and grow as a designer.
